In a 2018 interview, Bannon told writer Michael Lewis: "The Democrats don’t matter. The real opposition is the media. And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit.”

In a different interview, Bannon said, "All we have to do is flood the zone. Every day we hit them with 3 things. They'll bite on one, and we'll get all our stuff done. Bang, bang, bang. These guy's will never be able to recover.”

Six years later, Bannon just revealed that the same strategy is still working: "It's working. It's just stunning to me what they're doing, and it's not getting covered because it's too much. They're overwhelming the system."
